Number One is always my Momma

. Katharine Hepburn - brilliantly talented, total feminist, intelligent, all elbows and knees, completely gorgeous. More or less everything I wish I was and want to be.
. David Bowie - original glam rock, total sex god, unbelievably talented. You like Bowie even if you don't know you like Bowie.
. Cassie Bowen, Mary Crocker, and Carmen Rossi - tied for second most important and influential ladies in my life. Each one has been a beacon for me in different ways and different times in my life, and I would not be the person I am today without their individual influences. (yeah its cool I'm totally not one of your hero's, Mary, whatever Roll Eyes lol)

That's all I got for right now. I'll have to think of some more.

Political hero: Thomas Jefferson.  He represents this ideal of the "intellectual politician/lawyer/statesman" that just doesn't exist anymore.

Literary heroes: Kurt Vonnegut and Mark Twain.  As I've probably said before, I think satire is the best tool to convey an important message.  The amount of light that these guys have shed on politics and religion while making us laugh is enormous.

Musical heroes: I'm not sold on this, but I'm leaning towards George Harrison or John Paul Jones - the quiet ones.  I think they represent what musicianship should be.  They made good music, but they were never in-your-face.  They (in general) weren't over the top; they seemed to let their music do the speaking.

I really only have one hero: my paternal grandfather.

Although musically speaking, the reason why I play the drums is Dave Grohl.
