So what's your opinion on it, Bryce? Was it real or not or what? I think I'm too simple for movies like that. My inclination is just to accept what the movie tells me, so if it sets it up like "He didn't escape and is still trapped in the dream world" then I'll believe it. Although I totally loved it.

I don't think that is true because I always stay through the credits in movies just in case there is an easter egg, and I do not remember that happening. Although maybe it did and I just didn't realize what it was. WHO KNOWS NOT ME!

I'm most happy because I don't think that the movie clearly indicated one or the other. In keeping it ambiguous I feel like the Nolan might have intended the audience to feel the uncertainty that Cobb was feeling at the moment, and consider their own consciousness for a moment. I felt he did this pretty well, and I don't think knowing if the top fell or not would have done anything but hurt the movie.

black swan was craaaaazy ! natalie portman was really good but her character was nuts. made stuff up in her head, lost touch with reality. movie is really good at making you uncomfortable, which is crazy cause it's about ballet. i guess when you see ballet irl it's all about the pretty, not about ballerinas like puking their guts out or cracking under pressure. glad i saw it i think, but i probably won't wanna see it again for a looong time

Just watched Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole because I'm a gigantic fucking nerd with nothing better to do with my spare time. If you ever loved Don Bluth movies as a kid then you should fucking watch this flick. I checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes and it got a lot of flack from reviewers for being too adult for a kid's movie and too childish for an adult movie. I wonder if any of those reviewers have ever seen The Secret of NIHM or An American Tail, because Guardians fits right in with those. It most certainly has its childish and silly moments, but they're tempered with very serious and often outright dark imagery. The story moves along in what I remember being a more traditional animated movie pace - very quickly progressing through the set up bits until you reach the climax. The pacing was also criticized, but I remember as a kid thinking this was just fine, and I'm sure any child watching would feel the same.
Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, or maybe my cynical side is lashing out against the Pixar-ization of animated children's movies. I mean, I'm not saying Pixar hasn't done amazing and innovating things with the genre in the past decade, but I that doesn't mean that their way is the only way to do things. Guardians definitely doesn't follow the Pixar format (though it certainly gives them a run for their money in the CG department - if absolutely nothing else this movie is stunning to watch), but it follows one much closer to the movies of my childhood, and how could I not love it for that?
Anyway, I know absolutely none of you fucktards care, but I felt like writing about it. And I guess if at least one of you watches this movie now and likes it then cool.

Yah I really want to see those movies. But definitely check out Guardians. You can rent it for three bucks on amazon on demand. Or probably for a dollar if you have a red box nearby. Either way it's totally worth it.

No see True Grit. I am confident that you will not regret your decision.
also:
I'm sorry if it sounded like I was making fun of you when you talked about The Guardians of Ga'Hoole. I wasn't, I promise.

No see True Grit. I am confident that you will not regret your decision. I still haven't gotten a chance to see it but I sooooooo want to! That and The King's Speech. I hear that is absolutely amazing. I am really excited to see Helena Bonham Carter in a movie not directed by her crazy ass husband, too. It'll be nice to see her act again.

did you miss that asshat thread homick?
also. banksy doesn't piss me off, i like his work. but there's just something totally irksome about the whole thing. too much hype or something. but no, i remember the chicken nugget pet shop he did in manhattan a few years back and that was bitchin
anyways the only things i really use netflix for are skins and married with children. this is my shame. i have no attention span for movies anymore. i need someone to sit down with me and make me watch them or i don't.
