Lettuce - Rage!
They popped up on my last.fm Similar Artist Radio Station for Galactic one day. These guys lay down some pretty solid grooves, both in the style of 1970's funk and naught's hip-hop influenced funk. As it turns out, the entire band is composed of graduates of Berklee College of Music.
Fred Hirsch Trio - Whirl
Heard this on NPR not too long ago. It's a beautiful piano-driven jazz album. I haven't listened to it enough to explain some of the technical aspects of why it's so good, but I can see it remaining in my rotation for a while.
