I will buy it for this alone(brushes app). Hello $500 sketchbook!

I was also incredibly excited about the presentation the New York Times did with it. This could quite possibly save a shitton of failing newspapers and magazines if people could now directly buy the entire publication directly to their iPad daily. Really fucking smart for the Times to jump behind it.

And I love that the iBook feature is full color. I think the Kindle is pretty bad ass, but I lamented the fact that any color illustration or photos would be sort of pointless to have included when I'm also obligated to feel they're insanely important to the literary world.

That is all. I will probably buy it. Not first gen, but eventually when some of the more glaring issues are worked out (no flash, no camera, multi-tasking). I think people that don't see how its needed/useful/POTENTIAL(as in the future!) game-changer are just being silly.

and because the name is really the worst part:

Is this is the supposed "tablet" that doesn't officially exist but nerds across the internet have still been jizzing in their pants about? Even if its not, that looks frickin sweet. I would totally buy one. Also just for that sweet painting app.

It got officially announced today! Its definitely fucking sweet in some regards, but there are a few missing features that seriously deplete its coolness! I'm still ridiculously excited about it, though!

No camera and tiered 3G functionality... but still, I am buying this no doubt.  Also, 10 hours of battery life!

What I think is cool about this is the price.  Realistically, this device should cost $1400-1500 minimum.  But Apple bought a processor manufacturer. So they build the most expensive part of the iPad in house.  And the core developers were able to tell the processor designers what they needed it to do!  The iPad is like two very beautiful people making love to each other and ejaculating web sites.

Dumb name, but very cool product with alot of potential. I see myself getting one that is 2nd or 3rd generation, depending on how Apple develops it. I am interested to see what this product can do, but as it stands my iphone can do the basics of what the ipad can (sans ibook), and I can't see myself making full use of the product, just yet.
Its got the potential to really change how people interact with computers and information, but like all changes, it wont happen overnight; it'll take a while to catch on. However, now is as good a time as any for Apple to release a product like this.

Ill probably wait until 3rd generation, when there are more size options, as well as protective accesories and applications. I've had much experience with people getting first and 2nd generation computer equipment and having issues with it that are soundly resolved by 3rd. A coworker is also getting one so i'll play around with his.  As it stands the laptop-tablet combination is enough for me, and for now I'd rather put my money towards other things.

that said, cool stuff.
