I was also incredibly excited about the presentation the New York Times did with it. This could quite possibly save a shitton of failing newspapers and magazines if people could now directly buy the entire publication directly to their iPad daily. Really fucking smart for the Times to jump behind it.

And I love that the iBook feature is full color. I think the Kindle is pretty bad ass, but I lamented the fact that any color illustration or photos would be sort of pointless to have included when I'm also obligated to feel they're insanely important to the literary world.
That is all. I will probably buy it. Not first gen, but eventually when some of the more glaring issues are worked out (no flash, no camera, multi-tasking). I think people that don't see how its needed/useful/POTENTIAL(as in the future!) game-changer are just being silly.
